Florin Gheorghiu came to Advanced Explorations in April 2008 with more than 35 years of experience in ore crushing, grinding and enrichment processes. As the Vice President Engineering & Technology he is overseeing the project’s economic study. Before his involvement in the AEI team, he was the Manager, Mineral Processing, for Min-Met Ltd., a metallurgical and mining consulting company, based in Montreal, Canada. As a consulting engineer, Florin has participated in important mining R&D projects and feasibility studies with some of the world’s leading iron ore producers (Quebec Cartier Mining; Kudremuch Iron Ore; Arcelor-Mittal; SNIM).

Florin Gheorghiu was also a professor at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania and a visiting professor at the University of Quebec at Chicoutimi, Canada. In addition, he is an author and co-author of more than 150 technical papers, reports, books and abstracts on carbon and graphite electrode manufacturing and mineral processing.
